Why do we run to a place called ' ABROAD'?
So many of my friends, relatives and acquaintances live abroad. They lived here, our nation, India. What made them think this wasn't good enough for them? What made them take a step which took them a million miles away from home?
I always wonder is it the lack of employment, the standard of living or the utter interest to serve anyone but our country?
When, I think I come to so many thoughts like yes, these might be the reasons. Some might have gone for a pure study purpose and may return. Some may not. let's talk about those who wont!
These people who think that India isn't any good, well I agree to some extent and I have to disagree as well. Not because I am a patriot, but because I still believe in my nation, a few people who are willing to stay back and create a better living for ourselves and the generations to come. Also, many of those who go abroad and work on various jobs there, to earn a living, i.e to pay the rent, for food, etc etc will go to the extent of working in a supermarket as a cashier but think of the same job as a huge depreciation to dignity here. Why so? Is it because we don't get paid equally or there's no dignity in such a job here?
My thought about whole of this live abroad- kamao in dollars- splurge gloriously is coming to a rejection mode. How many of us want this place to change, change for good. But, how many are really willing to take a simple step ahead? Even walking a few meters and giving a vote seems like a huge task in this country where almost 40% of the population doesn't vote.
How will our country change, when you don't want it to change?
I want to know how will you create respect for your nation in your child's heart when you don't respect it in the first place. My idea of a future here would not be a Shanghai or a New York, but I want it to be a country, where our children and the children of children want to stay. Want to make a living, want to create a better prospect for others.
Also, this change wont take place in a decade or two decades, but not working towards it will never happen. Not now, not ever.
think about it, for once. For once realize that if you can be a slave in a foreign state, then keep some dignity and work for a better future, here, in India.
